Was reading some news articles yesterday when I bumped into this featured article in Yahoo!. I jumped back a little when I saw the header – and was brought to further disgust when I thorougly read it!
“Bread Maker Fined Over Dead Mouse In Loaf”
In a loaf?
So apparently a dad was preparing a meal for his children when he suddenly noticed that there was a dark object embedded into his loaf – the whole stretch of 3-4 slices. He was about to ignore it thinking that it was most probably spoilt or unmixed dough – but when he looked closer it was furry!
What’s worst was that the tail was missing and it was no wehre to be found so now he is suspecting that it has been fed to his children from the earlier meals.
The final punishment?
“Manufacturer Premier Foods was fined £5,500 and ordered to pay £11,109.47 in costs at Oxford Crown Court for failing to maintain acceptable standards at their site in Mitcham, south London.” – Sky News 2010
Well, it didn’t happen in Malaysia that’s right – but I can’t help but look at all corners of my bread now before eating it. Egad!
Can you look at bread the same way again?
