Visited the Hello Kitty Cafe in Hong Dae 홍대 (Hong Ik University Station, Subway Line 2). People around me would know that I’m not a big fan of pink anythings so I was dreading to get into this cafe. I don’t hate it or anything but I get chills really often when I see such cutesy stuff. Surprisingly when I walked in, it had this soothing vibe that was comfortable and peaceful.
Pink overload, no doubt, but the ambience was set perfectly for a nice conversation over a cup of coffee with your friends.
From the subway (Exit 5, i think), you will have to make an immediate left and walk into a place that looks somewhat like a park near Dunkin Donuts. Turn left and walk straight into the main street of Hong Dae’s Fashion Street. The cafe will be on a slope on the first or second left turn of the main street.
This is right below the Coffee Prince cafe. Its very pink so its really easy to spot!
One of the sections of the elevated floor, mostly for couples I think.
The second section of the elevated level
The counter with staff in pink uniforms.
The mom ordered banana waffle troussled with hot chocolate sauce. Look at the powdered deco!
This is the restroom, all pinkified. Look at my enthusiastic blogger mode!
The table next to us with stuffed Hello Kitty cushions!
Iced Tea.I love iced teas in Seoul because they’re all peach flavoured. You can trust anything that is fruit flavored in Seoul because they’re really rich in flavour!
The waiting bell that vibrates when your order is ready to be picked up from the counter
Fastah walk away!
Anyways, for those who are interested in cats and would love to walk into the cafe with real life pet cats around, I took a picture of the brochure I received on the way to this cafe. I’ve seen it on television but since I can never get friendly with cats it never crossed my mind to even pay the place a visit. It’s located next to the Hello Kitty cafe so you can go and have a look. There’s also a pet dog cafe called the Bao House located somewhere in Hong Dae too on the 2nd floor of one of the aisles so you have to look out 🙂
